Life is a lot like a sine wave (or at least I’d like it to be…being square or sawtooth seems nasty):
As my combat ratio was high in November, now it was time for it to fall and so it did – down went my Meth Grin.
Jumping around my usual hunting grounds I found the Maller-class cruiser on d-scan, baiting happily in the lone asteroid belt in Zinoo. As Zinoo is an exit to highsec, I jumped to Neburab, to check for the backup…and there he was, at the Zinoo gate, the ship with a class name so fitting – the Curse-class combat recon ship. I fiddled around a bit, jumped back to Zinoo and then decided to engage. “Let’s lose an Ishtar!” came to my mind and so I did, since I grossly underestimated the ability of the Curse to drain my capacitor in just 1 cycle. Moral of the story – try not to underestimate your opponent and do not enter combat with thoughts of losing the ship. As I had already lost the ship in my mind, so my combat actions were…very feeble.
I really hope that was the peak of the negative half-wave, since a few days ago things got a bit more bright. What’s an industrialist-pirate’s best past time? Exploding new players of course! A few days ago I was minding my own indy-slash-piraty business when I saw a Vexor-class cruiser on a scan! I was in a Vexor myself, so that’d make us even…scanning, scanning…sitting in a belt! Perfect. I warped to the belt to find him fighting a Sansha rat with…ECM drones and guns?! I waited politely for him to finish the rat off and then engaged. Scram, web, drones out and attacking, guns spewing plasma…and he sent his ECM drones and started poking at my shield with the guns. I felt a bit bad for him.
After the fight I explained why it’s not a good idea to send ECM drones against a drone boat, when you want to destroy it.
After the Vexor, Fortuna smiled upon me and granted me additional kills, most of them of lolfits like those – a Malediction-class interceptor, a Thorax-class cruiser and this unfortunate Venture-class mining frigate. Sorry kid, +2 warp strength doesn’t work against the arty-alpha Tornado. All and all the PvP weather forecast seems to be getting better.
As for the industry part – I might say, that in a few days I’ll have become a Jump Freighter manufacturer, with the first Anshar rolling out mid-January 2013. I like it. 🙂
